Pere Raquette will be on view at the Art Gallery of Mississauga as part of Genius Loci: Contemporary Canadian Artist Responding to Group of Seven artwork. Other artist included in the exhibition are: John Sasaki, Jessica Thompson, Yael Brotman, Susan Collacott, Kara Hamilton, Micah Lexier, Immony Men, Don Maynard, Aman Sandhu and Swapnaa Tamhane, and artwork from The McMichael Canadian Art Collection and The Tom Thomson Gallery.

James is curating The 10×10 Photography Project again this year. 10×10 is an annual exhibition of 100 portraits celebrating LGBTQ Canadians in the arts. Photographers this year include: R.Kelly Clipperton, Adamo de Pax, Guntar Kravis, JJ Levine, Sue Lloyd, John Monteith, Alex Nursall, Renee Navarro, Allyson Scott, and Sonja Scharf.

10×10 runs June 21-July 20 at the Gladstone Hotel. Opening reception & book launch is June 28th at 7pm.  Please visit The 10×10 Photography Project website for more details.

The 24 Hour ARTATHON was a success!

Next Friday James joins other artists for a 24 ARTATHON. The 24 hour event will raise money for publication costs of the 10×10 Photography Project book, launching June 28th at the exhibition opening at the Gladstone Hotel. Part o the proceeds of the sale of the 10×10 book go to The People Project, an arts initiative for queer and trans youth.
